Belts - Check for cracks, small
tears and missing rubber. These are all signs that the belt is not
in good condition and will need to be replaced.
Hydro pumps - If the deal seems to good to be true
it's probably bad or leaky hydro pumps. These can be very costly
to repair or replace. Those little pesky leaks ALWAYS turn into
pump failure.
Engine - The engine should always run at a constant
speed and should sound smooth. Erratic changes in engine speed could
mean problems but are probably due to the engine needing some minor
adjustments, new spark plugs or a clean air filter.
Tires - You will probably find a few tire plugs
in the tires but I would worry about those. Just make sure there
are no plugs in the sidewalls of the tires. Also look for large
bubbles on the inside of the sidewalls. |
